this bench has also been my bed for the past 7 nights,

since last monday when the love of my life was admitted for emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage.

if all goes well i’ll be back in my own bed tonight.

we have just gotten the go ahead to go home sometime today or tomorrow, whenever he feels ready.

home has never sounded so good.

the boys spent the first two nights with us here in the room before staying with friends and family, which at least added a certain sense of normalcy to all of this.

outside that window is a view straight across the valley into glacier national park.

if you are going to find yourself in a hospital, i can’t quite imagine it possible that there’s a better place to be than this one: the people, the philosophy towards healing, the accommodation of family, financial advice, the design of the building itself…

whew, what a week.

the road is long before us.

I am thinking about writing a column on money…but there are plenty of sources of information out there now.
What don’t you like about the way money advice is given and what would you like to see to make it better?

Investment advice from most investment professionals is biased.

Investment advice from most non professionals is inaccurate.

The poor investor is the victim in either case.

You must find a professional who is both knowledgeable and unbiased. GOOD LUCK!

Your best bet is to find a seasoned professional (20 years or more in the business) who works for a fee and not a commission.
