Let Your Business Flourish through Marketing Research

Article by Greame

Market research is very crucial to the survival and flourishing of every business. Several businesses end up with a big loss or collapse due to not carrying out a market or on account of a poor market research. Every business planning must be based on the analysis of a sound marketresearch. One of the other reasons for poor business might be the absence of good demand for the service or product concerned. However, in most cases, the demand factor does not result in a heavy loss or collapse of business. Under poor demand, businesses either bring down their man power or the rate of production to sustain the fall in income. Therefore, all types of business scenarios reveal that lack of market will heavily affect the desired output. A good research should be able to predict the market trend for the next 5-7 years.

There are a number of ways in which research can be carried out. The two most popular methods are either to appoint a markeresearch analyst for the company or to hire the services of a marketresearch firm that can carry out market surveys and research periodically. Several companies prefer taking the assistance of a research firm than appointing a market analyst. This is because the services of a market analyst will not be required on a regular basis and it is rather going to add up to the overhead expenses. In choosing the market firm, you need to take into account how long the firm has been in the field in addition to the achievements of the team. Every good research report must also contain a market analysis report and a prediction of the market trend for the next five years.

Market research reports help in business planning and to decide whether the business is viable. Market research is essential to study various business related factors like the business prospects lying ahead, how the business had been, what the competitors are doing and what are the new developments in the market. Though future is uncertain and no one can predict it, marketing research people have proven and established ways of foreseeing certain business trends that will help us in business planning. Therefore, the importance of market research should never be underestimated in running a successful business. Once you hire the services of a good marketing research company, you will know the difference it makes in your business.

A program called ‘Profit Source’ will get you the UKcharts. HUBB provide historical data and 1 years data subscription After that you will need to subscribe annually to them to get you chart data.

Profit Source Software: http://www.hubb.com/retail/default.asp?nav=is&is=ta&ta=main

Once you’ve got “Profit Source” and understand the software, the next step is to make a folder of the FTSE 100 index using quote lists so you can quickly flick through the UK blue chips for opportunities.

To find this out go to: http://www.ftse.com/Indices/UK_Indices/index.jsp

To find out financial data like EPS, Dividend yields, P/E ratios for FTSE 100 companies use this UK Yahoo finance link: http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/cp?s=^FTSE

Don’t be freaked out by LSE stock quotes, they’re measured in pence, not pounds. So if you see a bid at 2000, it’s actually 20 pounds/share.

Copy/paste this into a Word or Notepad file for future reference.
